Simulation-based learning in higher education and professional training: Approximations of practice through representational scaffolding

چکیده
In this article, we reviewed the nine studies included in a special issue that addresses assessment and evaluation of simulation-based learning higher education professional training. We discussed results each study, integrated them terms their individual collective contributions to evaluating effectiveness learning, related studies’ presage, process, product factors learning. concluded research on can benefit from employing variety methodological approaches venturing beyond its primary focus cognitive processes outcomes analyze different types process indicators outcomes. Moreover, identified promising direction for future research: selection adjustment representations practice simulations by means representational scaffolding. By proceeding with increasingly detailed analyses further advance our understanding relevant mechanisms.
